  • Assessment: The final grade is based on the quality of your presentations (including the Q&A session), keeping the deadlines and your active participation.

Topic

Any advanced topic in nano-, quantum, or solid-state physics (or related fields), preferably with a focus on fundamental aspects. You are welcome to present an interesting recent review article or a set of closely related papers. The title of your talk should be finalized by the time you send the first version of your slides.

Requirements

  • Schedule and deliver two talks: one longer and one shorter presentation. (NA3 students will also present a question from the final examination as a rehearsal.)
  • Participate actively in the discussion (Q&A) sessions.
  • Attend at least 70% of the classes. Note: Arriving late to the first talk counts as an absence.
  • Your grade will be determined primarily by the quality of your presentations and your responses to questions. Late slide submissions and/or postponements after missing deadlines will result in (cumulative) penalties applied to your final grade.
